Aaron G. Amacher III, MD

Aaron G. Amacher III, MD earned his undergraduate degree in Human Biology at Brigham Young University, and while there, served as a missionary for two years in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He completed his medical doctorate at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. His transitional internship and ophthalmology residency were completed at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, where he also acted as Chief Resident. His honorable service in the U.S. Army provided Dr. Amacher an uncommon wealth of experience. While serving in Iraq he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal with “V” device for valor in wartime.

Teaching has also been an important aspect of his career. While in Washington, D.C., Dr. Amacher served as part of the Ophthalmology Residency teaching staff of the world-renowned Walter Reed Army Medical Center, instructing future ophthalmologists in surgical and medical eye care. He has also been appointed as an Associate Professor of Surgery at both the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences and Touro University. Dr. Amacher continues to “give back” by having participated in Humanitarian efforts in Honduras, Malaysia, Bangladesh, and Belize. He has been fortunate to take two of his children with him thus far in order to stress the importance of service.

Dr. Amacher is board-certified in Ophthalmology and specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of eye diseases. Additionally, he has expertise in no-stitch cataract surgery to include vast experience with laser-assisted cataract surgery. He is proficient with the latest lens technologies (toric IOL, multifocal IOL, and the Visian ICL), LASIK/PRK vision correction, and glaucoma laser and surgical implants (iStent). Additionally, Dr. Amacher has been on the cutting edge of treating “over 40” near vision loss, or presbyopia.

His FACS designation means that he has passed a comprehensive evaluation by the American College of Surgeons. Quality patient care stands as his first priority. He has been awarded the “Patients’ Choice Award,” “Compassionate Doctor Recognition,” and “Top 10 Doctor” for the Dallas/Ft. Worth metro area. He has also been listed as one of the “Leading Physicians of the World.” Dr. Amacher speaks Spanish fluently and enjoys spending time with his wife and four children.
