Charles Williamson, MD is internationally known as a leading refractive specialist, having performed thousands of LASIK, cataract, PRK, RK and implantable contact lens procedures. He has been instrumental in research and development of numerous studies regarding ICL and the IOL implants, Stents, Excimer lasers, and Glaucoma trials. He has also been an innovator in regards to device development for CK, suction cannula for ICL implantation and positioning, the Wil-Cut RK knife and RK Nomograms, and a Diamond Trap blade for use in cataract surgery.
Dr. Williamson opened the first laser vision correction center and the first ambulatory surgery center for cataract patients in Louisiana. He was also the first to implant the Crystalens in Louisiana and has been named as one of the top 4 surgeons in the US for implanting thousands of Crystalens. He participated in the FDA investigation for the Visian Staar ICL implant and has implanted more ICL’s than any other surgeon in the state of Louisiana.
