Charles Duss, MD specializes in advanced cataract and refractive surgery. By combining the latest technology in laser vision correction with femtosecond laser assisted cataract surgery and a wide array of premium lens options, Dr. Duss believes in a customized approach to help every individual realize their vision goals.
Dr. Duss, a Jacksonville native, is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist and partner at Atlantic Eye Institute. Dr. Duss received his Bachelor of Science degree, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from the University of Notre Dame in 1999. He attended the University of South Florida College of Medicine where he was inducted into in the AΩA Medical Honor Society, and then completed his residency training in Ophthalmology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry New Jersey. He returned to his hometown to join Atlantic Eye Institute after extensive training in cataract, glaucoma, refractive and plastic surgery techniques.
Atlantic Eye Institute’s philosophy in refractive surgery is a team approach with three LASIK surgeons and two optometrists, with extensive experience in refractive practices beginning with radial keratotomy and continuing with laser vision correction since the early 1990s. Atlantic Eye and Dr. Duss believe in a personal concierge approach to refractive surgery, getting to know their patients well and being available 24/7 before, during, and after their vision correction procedure.
Outside of his passion for refractive surgery, Dr. Duss is an avid Notre Dame fan, and enjoys spending time with his wife and twins, Jameson and Sabrie.
