Erik Anderson MD is a board certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist practicing in the Greater Colorado Springs area. He has performed over 3,500 successful cataract surgeries using the latest diagnostic and surgical technologies including laser assisted cataract surgery and multifocal intraocular lenses (IOLs).
While growing up in Colorado, Dr. Anderson was raised in a healthcare environment and was focused from an early age on a career in medicine. After completing his undergraduate degree with Honors from the University of Chicago, he received a Master’s Degree from Georgetown University before completing medical school at the University of Illinois. Upon his graduation, he completed an ophthalmology residency at Chicago’s Cook County Medical Center, one of the country’s busiest hospitals. In his final year, he was elected Chief Resident by his attendings. Dr. Anderson then completed a Corneal, Refractive, and External Disease Fellowship at Wake Forest University and made a humanitarian trip to Honduras to provide cataract surgery to the underprivileged local community.
In his free time, Dr. Anderson enjoys skiing, golf, and spending time with his wife and two children.
