Kevin Cronin, MD is a board-certified cornea, cataract, and refractive surgeon at the Jacksonville Eye Center in Jacksonville, Florida. He is a Florida native who received his Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University and his Doctor of Medicine from Wake Forest University. Dr. Cronin then went on to complete his ophthalmology residency at the University of Florida, followed by a fellowship in cornea and refractive surgery at Corneal Associates of New Jersey.
Dr. Cronin suffered from high myopia as a child and wore contact lenses from an early age due to having an active lifestyle. His experiences with myopia allowed him to appreciate the importance of good vision and develop a deep empathy for individuals with poor vision. Eventually he became intolerant to contact lenses which prompted him to make one of the best decisions of his life. Dr. Cronin underwent LASIK surgery prior to medical school and has enjoyed 20/20 vision ever since. This transformative experience helped motivate Dr. Cronin to become a refractive surgeon so that he may improve the vision and quality of life of others. Dr. Cronin’s enthusiasm and desire to impact the lives of others have allowed him to be committed to refractive surgery and his patients.
