Maximilian Psolka, MD is an experienced refractive surgeon specializing in laser vision correction. Dr. Psolka was the leading refractive surgeon in the military over the past several years, performing PRK & LASIK on more than 5,000 soldiers, allowing them to complete the military mission without reliance on eyeglasses. In addition to laser refractive surgery, Dr. Psolka is a national leader in intraocular contact lens (ICL) surgery and has vast experience in cataract surgery with various monofocal, toric and multifocal intraocular lenses.
Dr. Psolka earned his B.S. degree in civil engineering at Johns Hopkins University in 1990, then his medical doctorate from USUHS, America’s Military Medical School in Bethesda, Maryland, in 1995. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, then his subspecialty fellowship

COL Maximilian Psolka retired from the U.S. Army in 2015 after 20 years of service — the first decade as a flight surgeon in Germany, Belgium, and the Balkans; the last decade as an ophthalmologist at Walter Reed in Washington D.C., West Point, New York and Fort Hood, Texas. Dr. Psolka played collegiate football and track & field, then ten years of rugby. He enjoys traveling, bicycling, lifting weights, dancing and music. He is an avid football fan, both college, and pro. He also is a dedicated father of two wonderful children. Dr. Psolka looks forward to bringing his twenty years of military medical experience to improve the vision of those who call the Lone Star State home.
