Roberto (Bobby) Saenz, OD MS FAAO is currently the Clinic Director at Parkhurst Nuvision, a referral based, integrated eye care clinic in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Saenz, a San Antonio native, has always been interested in the eyes since his brother was born legally blind due to Retinopathy of Prematurity. He’s always been interested in how the eyes work, why disease can impact the eye, and how surgery can be vision-saving/life-changing.
Dr. Saenz has always had a passion for serving patients, but he also has a passion for teaching. He’s an assistant adjunct professor at the Rosenberg School of Optometry and actively teaches nationally for KMK Educational services preparing students for their national board exams.
Dr. Saenz graduated summa cum laude from Abilene Christian University in Abilene, TX with a degree in biochemistry. He then graduated summa cum laude with a dual OD/MS degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry, where he spent his time researching non-invasive imaging to aid in the diagnosis and management of multiple sclerosis and idiopathic intracranial hypertension. After Optometry school, Dr. Saenz completed a residency in refractive surgery and ocular disease at the Eye Center of Texas in Houston, TX.
Dr. Saenz is passionate about service and has participated in many medical mission trips to underserved countries including Panama, Mexico, and Costa Rica. He and his wife, Lauren, have a one-year-old daughter and love to help the youth of their church.
