Paul Karpecki, OD, FAAO received his doctor of optometry degree from Indiana University and completed a fellowship in Medical Cornea and Refractive Surgery in Kansas City under Daniel S. Durrie MD, in affiliation with the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. He currently serves as Director of Cornea Services for Kentucky Eye Institute in Lexington KY, Co-Director of Lens Based Refractive Surgery team for iOR Partners. In 2017 he completed a full year preceptorship in advanced retinal disease at Retina Associates of Kentucky. He also serves as an Associate Professor at the Kentucky College of Optometry in Pikeville teaching on cataract and refractive surgery, cornea and dry eye disease.
Dr. Karpecki was appointed to the Delphi International Society, which included the top 25 dry eye experts in the world. He co-chaired the Dry Eye Summit for the profession, was selected to the TFOS DEWS II Diagnostic Methodology sub-committee and appointed co-chair for the Tear Film and Ocular Surface Society Symposia. He served as Co-chair of the Dry Eye Session at the Ophthalmic Innovations Summit during ASCRS and co-chairs OIS Optometry. Dr. Karpecki also serves as the Chief Medical Editor for Review of Optometry, the most read journal in the optometric profession.
