Roy Rubinfeld, MD was the Washington, DC area’s first eye surgeon to be involved with the care of laser vision correction patients. He is recognized around the world for his work in LASIK and other advanced corneal treatments and has treated tens of thousands of patients since 1991 including professional athletes, politicians, doctors and scientists. Dr. Rubinfeld has been a spokesperson for laser vision correction in the media and has been featured on ABC Evening News, The Today Show, CNN, Good Morning America, and in USA Today, Newsweek, Vogue, The Washington Post, and more.
Originally from New York, he came to Washington, DC for his ophthalmology training, eventually serving as Chief Resident in Ophthalmology at Georgetown University Medical Center. He was then accepted for a prestigious fellowship in Corneal Diseases and Surgery at the world renown Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. After completing the fellowship, Dr. Rubinfeld returned to Washington, DC in 1987 to join Washington Eye Physicians & Surgeons as a corneal specialist. He became Director of the Vision Correction Center in 2006 and in 2013, he opened the doors to Re:Vision – Roy Rubinfeld, MD his own practice where he currently specializes in LASIK, LASIK complication repair, PRK and the treatment of keratoconus, attracting patients from all of the world.
He has trained other doctors and lectured about LASIK and advanced corneal treatments all around the globe. In his spare time, Dr. Rubinfeld loves to travel, practice his Italian and spend time with his family.
