Court Webster, DO

Court R. Webster, DO is a Calgary, Alberta native attending ophthalmology residency at Corewell Health/Beaumont Taylor in Michigan with a strong interest in cataract and refractive surgery. Dr. Webster is passionate about helping patients achieve greater visual freedom and believes refractive surgery offers one of the most meaningful opportunities in medicine to improve quality of life. His interest in the field is also personal—after undergoing ICL surgery himself, he gained a firsthand appreciation for how transformative modern refractive technology can be.

Patients working with Dr. Webster can expect a thoughtful, patient-centered approach to care. He believes great refractive outcomes begin with careful listening and education, helping each patient understand their options and choose the solution that best fits their visual goals and lifestyle. Dr. Webster values precision, transparency, and trust, and he is committed to delivering care that prioritizes safety while striving for excellent visual outcomes.

Dr. Webster is drawn to refractive surgery because it sits at the intersection of surgical precision, rapidly advancing technology, and life-changing patient impact. Restoring clear vision often means restoring independence, confidence, and daily comfort for patients. That combination of innovation and human impact continues to fuel his dedication to the field, and he plans to pursue fellowship training in refractive surgery.

His academic work includes multiple publications in peer-reviewed ophthalmology journals, including research on phakic intraocular lenses and refractive surgical outcomes. He has also participated in advanced ophthalmic surgical training and wet labs involving femtosecond cataract surgery, MIGS technologies, and phacoemulsification simulation. Dr. Webster’s clinical and research experiences have been shaped by time spent abroad with different global health opportunities in Ghana, Mali and is leading the development of a new initiative in Peru while still in residency.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Webster enjoys running, photography, hiking, and traveling with his wife and their three young children. Dr. Webster hopes to combine refractive surgery, innovation, and global service throughout his career.
