Dr. Alban first performed refractive surgery in August of 1999. That initial patient put her trust in Dr. Alban, and she has never forgotten the honor of that trust. When Dr. Alban was able to have the procedure herself, she experienced firsthand how life-changing the results of these procedures really are. The incredible, rapid, and effective result of the surgery is what motivates Dr. Alban to provide excellent care to every patient who comes to her.
Dr. Therese Alban graduated summa cum laude from Drew University in Madison, New Jersey. She then went on to receive her medical degree (with honors) from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She continued her studies by completing an intensive residency in ophthalmic and refractive surgery at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary.
Dr. Alban has belonged to numerous honor societies during her studies, including Alpha Omega Alpha (the national medical honor society) and Phi Beta Kappa (the undergraduate national honor society). During her residency, she received awards for her clinical, surgical, and research skills. She also regularly presents at industry events and educates fellow eye care physicians. Memberships include the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Women in Ophthalmology, and the Florida Medical Society.
Dr. Alban believes in the philosophy of perpetual self-improvement to enjoy a satisfying life.
