Sultan Almutairi, MD, FRCS is a Consultant Ophthalmologist and Medical Director at Elite Medical Centre in Farwaniyah, Kuwait. Dr Almutairi received his Bachelor of Medical Science in 1990 and earned his Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery in 1995 from the Kuwait University. He then went on to complete his post-graduate training at McGill University in 2002 including Canadian Board Certification.
Dr Almutairi served at the head of the Kuwait Ophthalmic Society from 2004 – 2015. In 2005, he started in private practice, specializing in refractive surgery leading ultimately to the establishment of the Elite Medical Center in 2016. Dr Almutairi performs more 1000 refractive surgery procedures each year, spanning cataract surgeries, corneal transplants, Ahmad valve implants, and of course, refractive surgery utilizing the most current technologies, such as the WaveLight Refractive Suit.
