Mohsin M. Cheema, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist who focuses on refractive cataract surgery and laser vision correction. Since 1998, he has provided a patient-centered experience to his patients from New York’s mid-Hudson Valley.
A New York native, Dr. Cheema graduated as valedictorian from Kingston High School. He went on to obtain his bachelor’s degree in biology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He earned his medical degree with honors from Albany Medical College where he was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, a national medical honor society.
Dr. Cheema remained at Albany Medical Center to complete an internship in Internal Medicine. A three-year residency in Ophthalmology followed at the Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York City. The training at such a prestigious institution has given him the skills and experience to provide his patients with the best treatment for their eye problems. Upon completion of his training, Dr. Cheema was proud to return and serve the community where he was raised.
Dr. Cheema has been named one of the top doctors of the Hudson Valley by Castle Connolly for the past few years. Dr. Cheema is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Additionally, he is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the International Society of Refractive Surgery. He is also a member of the New York State Ophthalmological Society.
Dr. Cheema graduated the Physician CEO program at Kellogg University in 2018.
