Mike daSilva, MD is a Private Practice ophthalmologist.
Dr. daSilva completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and still travels to at least one football game per year, despite the team’s recent woes. He received his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, graduating with the distinctions of two merit-based Regents’ Scholarships and being nominated to the AOA honors society. He completed his transitional year residency in general medicine at the University of South Dakota Sanford School of Medicine in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and then completed a residency at the UCLA Stein Eye Institute. He later went on to complete an anterior segment fellowship in private practice.
Dr. daSilva considers patient education a large part of the physician’s duty, and he loves to talk to patients. He takes a personal interest in his patients’ lives, both to make them comfortable in the office and to improve the quality of their vision care. He is interested in the profound positive impact refractive surgery can have on his patients’ lives.
Dr. daSilva is married to his beautiful wife, Laura, with whom they share two extremely cute children: Elizabeth and Nicholas. De daSilva is an avid fly-fisherman, competitive cyclist, and outdoorsman.
