Rodgers Eckhart, MD is a board-certified ophthalmologist and partner at Advanced Eyecare in Denton, Texas. He is involved in the medical and surgical treatment of a wide variety of eye conditions, but he specializes in cataract/refractive cataract procedures. He is passionate about combining cutting-edge technology with a wealth of experience to provide optimal vision for his patients following cataract removal. Dr. Eckhart also has a significant interest in the treatment of dry eye disease, especially how it relates to positive outcomes after refractive procedures, and has worked diligently to make Advanced Eyecare a dry eye center of excellence.
Originally from East Texas, Dr. Eckhart obtained his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan in 2002 and medical degree from Texas Tech University in 2007. He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Virginia in 2011, where he served as a chief resident in his final year. He joined Advanced Eyecare in 2011 where he still practices today.
Dr. Eckhart’s memberships include the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and the Texas Ophthalmological Association.
Outside of work, Dr. Eckhart is a proud husband and father of triplets. His interests include spending time with his family and all sports, especially skiing. He is especially passionate about college football and never misses a Michigan game if he can help it
