Anna Edmiston, MD is a fellowship trained cataract and refractive surgeon. Her services include cataract surgery, refractive cataract surgery, and laser vision correction. Dr. Edmiston developed her passion for cataract and refractive surgery during medical school, where she volunteered in Huntsville, AL, and in Kenya, Africa, on an eye mission. “Vision is vital to all aspects of life, and I feel privileged to improve my patient’s lives through their vision,” says Dr. Edmiston, “The best reward is seeing patients after surgery who become more confident and independent due to their sight.”
Dr. Edmiston also manages comprehensive ophthalmology, dry eye, and glaucoma. Dr. Edmiston completed her medical school training at UAB in Birmingham, AL, where she was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. During ophthalmology residency at the University of Colorado, Dr. Edmiston completed glaucoma research and was published in the American Journal of Glaucoma and Medscape. Dr Edmiston completed her fellowship training under the guidance of Mitchell Jackson, MD in northern Illinois.
Dr. Edmiston is currently a sub-investigator on two clinical trials and is completing research on premium IOL refractive targets and biometry in post-refractive patients. She is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and Philanthropic Educational Organization.
