Leslie Emmert-Buck, MD, PhD, is a board certified ophthalmologist and cornea specialist in Michigan. The mission of her practice is to provide patients with the best corrected visual acuity possible through cataract and laser refractive surgery. She also enjoys treating dry eye patients.
Dr. Emmert-Buck completed a combined MD/PhD program at the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD, and the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. After finishing internship at Mercy Medical Center in Baltimore, she completed ophthalmology residency at the University of Maryland. Subsequently, Dr. Emmert-Buck spent a year at Wills Eye Hospital for fellowship training in Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery with Drs. Peter Laibson, Elisabeth Cohen, Chris Rapuano, and Kristin Hammersmith.
Outside clinical responsibilities, Dr. Emmert-Buck has an early research interest in cornea neovascularization and more efficient and personalized patient education.
In addition to the Refractive Surgery Alliance, she is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology.
