David Gunn, MBBS, BSc is an Australian Cornea, Cataract and Refractive surgeon. He practices at the Queensland Eye Institute, the largest independent academic research institute devoted to eye-related health and diseases in the state. Dr Gunn also is a founder of the laser eye surgery practice Focus Vision, in Brisbane, Australia. Dr Gunn trained in Medicine with honours and Ophthalmology in Queensland and was awarded the K.G. Howsam gold medal in the RANZCO fellowship. He undertook subspecialty training in corneal and refractive surgery at the Bristol Eye Hospital, United Kingdom.
Dr Gunn has a research focus in advanced keratoconus treatments and laser vision correction. He was a pioneer of Femto CAIRS surgery and introduced the procedure to Australia in 2021. He co-developed CairsPlan.com and has performed several Australian and world first procedures in the area of keratoconus.
