Dr. Joseph J. Ling is a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmologist and the Founder and Medical Director of Lucēre Vision, an independent refractive and lens surgery center in downtown San Francisco.
With extensive experience in refractive and anterior segment surgery, Dr. Ling specializes in LASIK, SMILE Pro, PRK, EVO ICL, Custom Lens Replacement (CLR/RLE), and premium cataract surgery.
Dr. Ling has been at the forefront of introducing advanced refractive technologies to the Bay Area. In 2022, he performed the first EVO ICL procedure in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2026, he performed the first SMILE Pro procedure in San Francisco using the ZEISS VISUMAX 800 laser. These milestones reflect his commitment to expanding access to innovative vision correction technologies.
Recognized for his expertise in EVO ICL surgery, Dr. Ling has also contributed to advancing surgical techniques, physician education, and the adoption of lens-based vision correction.
