Cameron Evans D.O. and I am a refractive surgeon caring for patients in the St. Louis and southern Illinois areas. We serve patients in rural regions without access to cataract surgery. I practice to improve patients lives utilizing the most effective technologies and therapies.
Patients firstly expect excellent outcomes, secondarily they expect availability. My patients know the risks and the benefits of their care, but simultaneously expect me to achieve their surgical goals.
I believe defining refractive surgery is the first step in describing what motivates me to practice. I believe refractive surgery is not putting in a multifocal lens or completing LASIK surgery on a high myopic patient. Refractive surgery is putting the utmost effort into achieving the best visual outcome with the tools given. It is taking a patient who cannot afford a superior visual outcome but achieving it anyway. By taking the time to research superior technology, which is also cost effective, we can benefit our patients lives regardless of their finances.
I am a board-certified ophthalmologist who completed his training at Grandview Medical Center in Dayton, OH where I was the Chief Resident from 2018-2019. I believe I received some of the best training I could have hoped for. I would like to personally thank Dr. Brian Mihok for the time and dedication to his residents. He is the reason for so many competent ophthalmologists practicing today.
I began practicing in West Michigan specializing in Refractive Lens Exchange. I was the most successful RLE surgeon in the Grand Rapids area from 2020 to 2022. In 2023, I decided to move to St. Louis, Missouri and join Ideal Eye Surgery. I am currently practicing with Drs. Stock and Marlow and feel very lucky to have such great mentors.
My wife, Lois and I are parents to our wonderful son Maximus David Evans. He is a gift, and I am so happy to have him in my life. He brightens my day every time I see him. I enjoy running, camping, hiking, and boating. I am a pilot and am currently working on finishing my IFR pilots license.
