Lena Beckers, MD, is a resident at “Augenärzte am Rathausmarkt” in Hamburg where she works with Dr. Matthiessen.
Dr. Beckers studied medicine in Münster (Germany) as well as in Naples (Italy) and Thun (Switzerland). As a student, she started working as a young researcher at Breyer Kaymak Klabe research institute for international innovative Ophthalmic Surgery (I.I.O.) which is linked to the University of Heidelberg. She started her residency at Breyer Kaymak Klabe Eye Surgery and Premiumeyes (Düsseldorf). Here she published papers and book chapters with her mentor Dr. Detlev R. H. Breyer (Düsseldorf). After working with Dr. Breyer she worked at the university hospital Hamburg-Eppendorf.
Apart from this Dr. Beckers held various presentations at national and international congresses and is also a listed reviewer for peer-reviewed journals. As a young ophthalmologist seeking for education and research progress, she is very grateful and honored to have become a part of GERSO which centers exactly these needs
