Dr. Driscoll is motivated to help patients achieve their vision goals in a manner that is suitable to their expectations for better eyesight. This not only helps them improve their quality of life in general but also their outlook on what it means to live a life of that typically associated with being in Hawaii. This includes patients hoping to achieve better vision to improve their leisure activities as well as their activities related to work and family life.

Practicing cataract and refractive surgery has been his passion since undertaking ophthalmology residency which started in 2007. Dr. Driscoll was very involved in the training process for the recruitment of new technology as well as the adaptation of present technology to better suit the needs for patients to achieve better vision and better-quality outcomes. Dr. Driscoll himself relies on his sharp vision for many of his work-related as well as leisure activities and hopes to allow his patients to enjoy similar vision for similar reasons as this can be associated with a much better outlook on life.

Dr. Driscoll is a graduate of the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute ophthalmology residency training in Miami, Florida. This world-renowned eye hospital consistently ranks as the number one eye training facility in the United States as well as worldwide. After completing his ophthalmology residency, he went on to complete a cataract and refractive surgery fellowship at the same hospital under the guidance of some of the world’s most well-renowned cataract and refractive surgeons. In his everyday practice, he has integrated various parts of each of those overseeing surgeons’ various skill offerings to adapt his techniques to those that seem to be the most efficient and best for his patients. He prides himself on being able to take care of the patient in terms of their entire eye health, be it for those portions of the eye related to cataract or cornea and also those related to glaucoma as well as vitreous and retina. Practicing on an island has allowed Dr. Driscoll to remain well-versed in taking care of the entire eye.

Dr. Driscoll lives a very high-quality life with his family in Hilo, Hawaii and enjoys numerous sporting activities including baseball, softball, golf, swimming, fitness, shooting sports and archery. He has two wonderful daughters that he enjoys to raise with his beautiful wife, Miki’ala, and hopes to continue having a successful practice with a good balance of family life.
