Athanasios G. Marneris, DO

Athanasios G. Marneris, D.O is a board-certified and fellowship-trained ophthalmologist in the Chicagoland area with an interest in refractive cataract surgery. Dr. Marneris has previously held the positions of clinical associate professor of Ophthalmology at Michigan State Univeristy as well as the University of California San Francisco. He has published and presented various topics in ophthalmology, including refractive surgery.

Dr. Marneris is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the International Society of Refractive Surgeons, and the American Osteopathic College of Ophthalmology. He completed his bachelor of science in Biology at Loyola University Chicago. He received his medical degree at Midwestern University Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. His post-graduate training includes internship and residency training at Michigan State University as well as fellowship training at the University of California San Francisco in uveitis and cornea. Currently, Dr. Marneris is looking forward to completing a Master of Refractive Surgery in the near future. His journey into refractive surgery was inspired by his mentor, Dr. Michael Keil, DO.

When not working, Dr. Marneris likes to stay active. He enjoys fitness, playing music, and spending time with his wife, daughter, and two dogs.
