Jacob Diskin, MD has a profound dedication to eye care, specializing in cataract, refractive, and glaucoma surgery. His passion for this field was instilled early on, growing up in a family of accomplished ophthalmologists. Dr Diskin earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and my medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine. Subsequently, he completed his ophthalmology residency at The Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit, Michigan in 2023.
Dr. Diskin deeply understands the value of vision and eye health and is committed to involving patients in their eye health decisions. By implementing the latest advancements in technology and evidence-based practices, he is determined to deliver the highest standard of ophthalmic care. His commitment to clinical research focuses on overcoming barriers to eye care in underserved communities and analyzing retinal blood flow in diabetic retinopathy patients. Dr. Diskin has been honored with several awards, including the “Quality Improvement Project of the Year” at Kresge Eye Institute and the prestigious Dong H. Shin Outstanding Ophthalmology Research Award.
Outside of his medical pursuits, Dr Diskin is passionate about humanitarian work, organizing free eye clinics in Detroit, volunteering at free health clinics, and participating in building and operating a free clinic in an Ecuadorian village. Additionally, Dr. Diskin provided emergency care overseas as a volunteer in an ambulance. In his leisure time, Dr. Diskin enjoys live music, both as a musician and spectator, and finds solace in engaging in sports, hiking, and traveling.
As the newest member of Clavenna Vision Institute, Dr. Diskin brings expertise in cataract and glaucoma surgery as well as a deep passion for laser vision correction and state-of-the-art refractive technology and surgery by staying at the forefront of advancements in these areas, ensuring that my patients have access to the most advanced and effective treatments available. Whether it’s LASIK, PRK, or other refractive procedures, Dr. Diskin is committed to helping patients achieve clear vision and improved quality of life through personalized care and cutting-edge techniques.
